MSM still effective if not fed daily?

My pony is pasture boarded and is fed with his pasturemates from pans on the ground. They are separated but there’s no guarantee that each gets all of his own food.

I give him a flax, salt and vitamin E mixed with soaked hay pellets when I see him 3-4 times a week. I’d like to add a better quality brand of MSM powder to this but want to be sure it will still do something if not given daily. If fed with meals outside, I’m afraid it will be blown away or stuck on the bucket the food is carried in.

The whole cheap from China MSM quality issue is something I’d like to avoid. Better brands don’t make it pelleted. The flax and E seem to work when not given daily.

Don’t know about it’s efficacy if not fed daily but… I prefer liquid MSM, like the Su-Per MSM from Valley Vet. Cherry flavored. One to two squirts and it sticks to the feed

I would work to find a way to get him to eat all his meals, every day. It really does matter. It matters less for something like E and flax, but MSM really does need to be fed daily. Ideally it starts with a loading dose for 7-10 days (double the normal serving), and then the normal dose from then on. It would probably be fine if fed 6, maybe 5 days a week, but I wouldn’t bother, TBH, if it’s only going to get there 3-4 days a week.
