Muck Boot bad luck?

I noticed a difference between Muck boots 10 years ago and more recently. The older ones, I got a couple years of hard use before they literally wore out. The newer ones are softer and lighter, and (IME) spring the kind of leak you described after just a few months.

I bought Bean boots 17 months ago for the same price as Mucks, and the Beans are still going strong.

The calf high ones lasted over 10 years. The short ones that wear in summer last me if lucky 60 days. I stopped buying them they cracked near the ball of my foot each pair before 60 days one pair returned waited for ever and ever to get them back. It really turned me off of them. Love to wear them but hate that the price keeps going up and cant even get 2 months of wear out of them before they fall apart.

I am glad to read all of this as I was desperate for a pair last winter during our dairy show season but could not find any. I am currently looking but I think I will go in a different direction.

This is good to know- I have been toying with the idea of getting Muck Boots but not wanting to shell out the bucks. Anyone have any experience with LL Bean duck boots?

Well, the Muck Boot people aren’t too good at responding, but their PR company is GREAT! Someone from their PR company is taking care of it for me :).

MUCK BOOT ALTERNATIVE *****

TRY THESE!! Way cheaper, fun, and as durable, for way less. They are spreading around our barn, lol. Mine are well over a year, every day, several hours, and they are good as new - well dusty and little stuff stuck to the insides, a shaving here, a leaf there, some sand, etc.

Hm, those do look interesting, but they don’t appear to be insulated at all… since I mostly wear Muck Boots during cold weather, I really need something at least moderately warm. But maybe I could try a pair during wet-but-not-cold weather and save some wear and tear on my muck boots.

I am pretty excited about the replacement boots the Muck Boot Company is sending me… I requested the Reign Tall in black/pink :D. The wonderful PR woman offered me two pairs of boots, but I felt that would just be greedy on my part.

You guys must be hard on your Muck boots - I’ve had two pairs for y.e.a.r.s
and wish they would wear out. My greyhound has chewed the neck of both pairs.
I have the short ones, with the dog paw print on them suitable for dog kennels.

They start out feeling odd, and then my feel mold them to my foot shape. Love them.

I get them from Equestrian Factory Outlet for cheaper price.

You might find though, foxtrot, that although your old ones lasted years, your replacements might last no time at all. Cherish your old ones because it sounds like the quality was higher than the current ones. I remember when Hunter wellies went the same way, they were a good boot then production went off abroad and quality plummeted.
