Murphy oil soap Gel

It is not a myth - it did once exist and it came in a plastic wide mouth jar that you could dip your sponge in for just the right amount rather than the liquid form spilling more than you need onto the floor or your soaking your tack with water.
It was wonderful at cleaning tack. IMO much better than Fiebings saddle soap.

I just got off the phone after being told that the product was unavailable due to low demand.
The customer service number is 1-800.468-6502.
Let’s demand it back.

Jar? We used to buy it by the bucket. And such an old-timey smell.

Just add a package or two of Knox unflavored gelatin to the liquid & let it sit overnight.

Knot sure the Knox gelatin would work for me*.
Where can I buy a bucket of it for myself?
The original not simply a Knox adulterated version of the liquid.

Pour the regular Murphy’s Oil Soap in a wide mouth container and leave the lid off. The regular MOS will turn into the gel.

I did this & got the result I wanted: MOS in handy gel form.

The jars of Murphy’s Gel are a HARD to find commodity anymore. I actually broke down and bought a 10% used jar off Ebay a few years ago, just cuz I HAD to have it!!!

Thanks for the tip on how to recreate it at home!
