Murphy's Oil Soap for hoof abscess?

Anybody try this? It was suggested to me instead of ichthammol to draw the abscess out. Coat hoof/coronet band in Murphy’s, wrap with saran wrap, then diaper, then vet wrap, then duct tape.

I’m on day three of ick-thammol  and poor maresy is more than ready to get that thing out!

Never heard of it & I can’t see what chemistry would cause the oil soap to act as a drawing agent.
You’d be better off making a paste of epsom salts, proven to draw toxins by osmosis.
There’s a commercial paste of epsom some feed/tack stores carry.
Found it:

I’ve used the epsom salt poultice with mixed results in the past, thanks!

I’m pretty convinced they blow out exactly when they want to, regardless of what goop we apply

Yeah, poulticing, soaking, etc mostly give us something to do
