Saturday, April 23, 2011 there will be another preview of the 2 and 3 year-old Mustangs to be adopted/auctioned at Rutgers University this year. The Preview event will take place at the Red Horse Barn at the intersection of College Farm Road and Sheepfold Lane on the George H Cook Campus in New Brunswick, NJ. It was originally planned to be for VIP Sponsors only but in view of the rain during the public preview last week, we are opening it up to anyone seriously interested in adopting or purchasing one of these very special horses. You MUST be approved/registered to adopt or bid on them and so far no one has stepped forward!
The 7 horses will be shown in hand and at liberty in the round pen and available for inspection from 5PM to 7PM. The public is welcome to attend free of charge.
Two horses, RU Sundance Kid and RU Annie Oakley, will be available for BLM adoption at 12 noon on Saturday, April 30, the other five will be sold at the 12th Annual Young Horse Auction on Sunday, May 1 at the same facility. There is a bidder registration fee of $15.00 and an adoption fee of $125.00. Adopters must be pre-approved and comply with Bureau of Land Management restrictions (Which will be more lenient that for untamed mustangs). We strongly recommend coming to see the horses in advance!
