My 1st day of hunting...rained out!

I am completely and utterly bummed. I was all set - trailer hitched, horse clean, tack cleaned, dug out a martingale and a fitted pad, dressed, boots shiny, ready to pick out my 1 hound and follow his movements, in my truck and driving to pick up my horse…and it was cancelled due to weather. Argh!!!

I know that there are other Satudays but my husband is an avid fisherman and we share the truck. Next weekend he gets “custody” and the following Sat my daughter has a horse show.

So, people, post your hunt reports so I can at least read them and dream!

Bummer

So sorry to hear your first outing was a no go. One of my boarders has been itching to get out with us and the two times that she was all ready to go… something came up. Disappointing as it is… you will get out there soon and revel in the excitement!!!

Sorry 'bout dat!

At least you hadn’t braided! Or invited your whole family from outa state to join you & watch an opening meet!!! Or…yes it coulda been worse!!! Been there, done that! You will survive!!!

It stinks, doesn’t it!

Today was the first day that I could hunt this season and we got rained out too. It was one of the only Saturdays in October when i don’t have to drive my son to a regatta and yesterday was gorgeous.

Sigh.

Awwwww… I’m so sorry!

We had a great day today. Fox everywhere. Scent held in the woods but it’s awfully warm and dry so we were all glad to go in after 2 hours.

Since we stayed in the woods and the leaves are still on the trees it was hard to see but oh - the hound music was divine. I saw one of my favorite hounds several times - working diligently. I remember when he was a pup.

Hope you get out soon - and that you have a wonderful time.

Truck custody

Yes, we’ve had some of our largest fights in our marriage over truck custody. Fortunately my husband defers to me most of the time. The down side of that is that when truck replacement time comes, the lions share of the tab comes out of MY bank account.

I love my truck. He has to remind me it is OUR truck.

Sorry you got rained out. We’ve had fabulous hunts the last couple of weekends. I’m behind on my hunt reports and photos. Will work on them now.
