Original movie was decently done, if saccharine.

One thing I learned from a lot of these horsie movies growing up was that even the wildest mustang will be instantly tamed and become your pal for life if you feed him an apple.
But later in life my first wild, spooky, catapult out of cross ties TB had never learned to eat an apple, so I was screwed.

I saw Thunderhead but never heard of the other.
The comments were interesting. Was she a hard to get along with diva, or did people just not know how to get along with her? Did she do well in the show ring, or was she just a pasture ornament?
The original books are both wonderful!
