Enjoytheride, The reason is because edhrefugee101 posted this.
A burnt vein is pretty telltale for improper bute injection. Which is probably why it’s not really something most vets are comfortable letting non-vets do.
What are the long term repercussions for a horse with a burnt/junk vein? Just curious.
Nothing. They grow collateral veins.
^ Interesting.
i had a horse that thrombosed at an IV catheter site in his jugular vein. He had fluid build up in his head, and could not lower his head to eat, because he only had one functional jugular vein. Once we got past that, it took quite some time for other blood vessels to grow in that area to take over blood flow for the thrombosed vein. He healed, had no further issues, and we just did any necessary IV injections CAREFULLY in the other side of the neck.
Don’t know if this is similar to a “junky vein”, as this is the first I have had heard of the term.
Apparently, John Nunn looked into it and didn’t find any wrong doing because Ellen’s FB post yesterday thanked all her sponsors and she specifically called at Mr. Nunn for being with her since the beginning.
I’m confused. How do you know that? She could thank him even if he had withdrawn sponsorship.
I guess he could have withdrawn support. Did you see her post? It was a post thanking all her sponsors. Among others, it stated: #nunnfiner & #bitofbritain for all the fabulous tack/boots & support & for John Nunn (which she tagged) believing in me and being my first sponsor after Fairhill a few years ago.
So, I guess John Nunn could have withdrawn his support but I think if he was tagged in the post, he would have set things straight if he didn’t want to be associated with her. Maybe i am off base, if so, let me know and I will happily delete my post.
This page doesn’t have a “last updated” date on it, but EDH is not on it.

It’s a bummer to see M Little listed.
Stormy17 - Pls don’t beat yourself up.
Unfortunately, a lot of people with letters and stars behind their names aren’t quite what they should be. I think it’s brave of you to come forward and help other people and their horses avoid what you experienced.
I hope you find happiness and much more luck with your horses in the future.
People need to read Stormy17’s latest status on Facebook.

EDH used a photo of Stormy17’s deceased horse in a post on her barn’s Facebook page to advertise for boarders earlier in the week, and…anyone who’s followed this thread can guess why that was in extremely poor taste.
The fact that EDH is still a presence in this industry - with everything she has done to harm horses and humans - is completely absurd.
I saw she had some horses posted for sale on FB too…that status says it all.
“Poor taste” has never been something Ellen has tried to avoid as far as I can tell. (e.g. Posting to FB calling out Sally O’Connor for what she considered poor judging, making leashes for her dogs with the words “verbal leash” written on them, posting to FB AGAIN arguing against her DQ from a dressage test for lameness, texting Stormy and thanking her for all of the “free publicity” this thread has generated for her, etc, etc)
I happen to think it’s one of the only things she excels at.
Poor Stormy. As if her awful experience with EDH isn’t bad enough she also was assaulted by the Cheeto in Chief?
Golf tournaments always seemed to bring out the best in him.
She’s issued a statement denying the story: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/01/12/trump-rep-former-porn-star-deny-hush-money-claims.html
