My hunting friends might enjoy this thought....

I began working in a local consignment shop last week that really caters to the hunting community. I LOVE the job and I am having a blast with it. While I don’t get to hunt nearly enough, I love the sport and I love all the cool appointments I get to admire and handle on a daily basis while working.

This evening, I was sharing with my mother (a good “horse show mom” but definitely not a horse person) all of the interesting things I learned to day about hunting appointments from the store owner. At some point she interrupted and said, “It’s like all the laws in Leviticus!”

I paused for a moment and realized, why, yes! It really is!:lol:

However, these “rules” are far more interesting and fun to follow.

 I never thought about it that way but… yes!!

I believe I know where you are working…and she definitely knows her appointments and attire- she is such an incredible woman whose life has been so interesting! And yes, they are laws, written in stone!

And taken even more seriously than the laws in Leviticus!

I’ll be coming by to see you at the shop. It is an awesome trove of goodies. And you’ll get first pick!

Please give me a head’s up if any new ss stuff comes in… I usually stop by on Fridays, but…

Oh my I need some stuff, Amanda! You need to help me!

We moved this past year from the northern tip of VA, and I GRIEVE over not being able to visit that particular store any longer. The proprietor is an amazing woman, and the shop is one of a kind! Yellowbritches, I envy you! If Norma still works there, please tell her that “John’s Mom” says hello.

I thoroughly enjoy the job. Lots of fun, lots to learn, lots of great people in and out of the shop. And, next to helping someone find their PERFECT horse, it’s about as much fun as you can have with other people’s money

And, yes, my employer is an absolute fountain of knowledge. I could sit and listen to her talk about hunt whips and sandwiches cases all day long! One day I hope to have a horse that won’t get me blacklisted from every hunt on the face of the planet so that I can smartly turn us out to her very high and proper standards. Until then, I lovingly admire them in the shop.

PS- My friends on FB love me, since I’ve been keeping everyone informed about things they want/need. I’ve banned myself from shopping, at least until my broken leg is mended and nearing the same size as its mate. At some point I’ll have to replace the boots they cut off of me!

I hope that you mend quickly! VERY sorry about your boots! Wouldn’t it be lovely if the perfect pair came in just as you were healing? I hope they do.
