My Subscriptions Folder is always empty......how does it normally work?

I tried searching first, to see if there was already advice here but I didn’t see any.

Here is my question. On most forums, once you REPLY/POST to a thread (or even start one),you are “SUBSCRIBED”

And on most forums, if you want to see what activity any threads you’ve posted on have - you go to SETTINGS and then SUBSCRIPTIONS…and you’ll see any activity or new stuff in threads you have participated in.

Problem is - I have an EMPTY SUBSCRIPTIONS folder. And can’t figure out how/why.

I use Subscriptions under Settings religeously in other forums so I can keep up with any threads I’ve posted on. But here on COTH, my folder is EMPTY, so I can’t easily see any ‘activity’ on threads I’ve participated in.

HELP?

Do you have your settings set up to do subscriptions?

Under “messaging & notification”:

Default Thread Subscription Mode. Perhaps you have it set to “do not subscribe” there? I have “through my control panel only” and my subscriptions folder is fully populated.

You have to choose which threads you want to subscribe to. Go to the thread, and right above the first post it says “thread tools” Click the arrow and the third choice is “subscribe to thread”

BGH - thank you!!! That is what I wasn’t doing. Interesting how you have to do those steps in order to be subscribed.

Alot less user friendly than some other forums, but now that I know to do it, I will

THANKS!

I have a folder full of subscribed threads and I never select to subscribe. Sure, you can set it up that way in the control panel, but if that’s inconvenient for you, you can also set it to subscribe whenever you reply.
