My trainer's daughter Destri Devenport just won the NBHA World Championship!

It was unexpected and huge for her. I think she’s only competed in it at this level maybe once before. She was super fast. 14.632

Destri Devenport… she won a gorgeous new trailer and lots of loot! All of their daughters compete in rodeo, but this is the biggest win for any of them.

Her parents are so proud… and we are all so excited she’s only 22!

I will post a video when I get the link.

How fun! Congratulations!

You need to tell us more, what is the NBHA World Championship and where is it held?

World Championship held in Perry, GA, this past weekend.

Congratulations to Destri!

Oh, thank you, that is interesting, good for her!

Here’s her winning run…

Her run was wicked fast. She was super lucky that second barrel didn’t tip. She is such a sweet girl… works very hard. Has been on a rodeo horse since she could walk. She’s one of three sisters that all do it. Her younger Sister Macy is right behind her on a scholarship to NM State I think. Rodeo Scholarship.

Here is a story about all three girls from a few years back:

I wish English shows gave out prizes like this!

Her dad Lynn Devenport rode bareback horses in his day… then roping. Now he teaches us Ammies how to chase a cow in Sorting, Penning, and Team Roping.

I love sorting… having a blast

She did great, that is like winning a big Grand Prix in Spruce Meadows.

We have a friend that qualified in barrel racing for the NFR this year, so everyone here is very excited for her.
She is a wonderful lady, a really sweet person and all she said is, she is lucky she had that good a horse to compete with this year.

Yes, you need a top horse to be at the top, but you need to know how to ride it at the top and keep it there also, it is not just everyone that gets to the top.

Barrel racing is very big in the West half of the country, didn’t realize it was in the SE also.

WOOOEEEE!!! That third barrel was SWEET!

Good for her! How exciting!

She is sooo lucky that second barrel didn’t tip.

Here is the run from another angle.
