My turn to brag, did my FIRST SOLO....

The end of April, I went to the Pitzer Ranch auction and bought a 4 yr old horse, Chex. He is very sweet and has a brain. I have trail ridden him a lot and done a novice endurance ride on him since I have had him.

Last Monday, I smuggled my dog and Chex to a State park for our first solo. He was a bit cautious, but stayed forward, just needed some urging from him a few times.

He was such a good guy!!!

Congratulations! I’m a recent solo ride convert also… . And the more I do it, the less I want to ride with other people. Not that I don’t enjoy my riding friends, but there’s just something special and a little magical about being alone with your horse out in the woods…

I actually prefer to ride solo. I do it all the time. Hope you have more chances to do this, and have a great ride.

My title may have been a little misleading, I have two horses. I do solo’s a lot on my old man, but that was the first on my NEW horse, so was kinda a milestone

You just never fully know how they will be w/out a buddy, but he was good, so was able to relax and enjoy myself.

I love horses that have good brains
