Ordered the Ursa cart to deal with manure until I can get my composting bins emptied and it arrived in 3 days! AND I think I can sneak home early today to assemble it, wheee! Christmas fun on the farm! :lol:
What is an URSA cart, have you put it together yet and more important, how about some pictures?
Okay, I found the Ursa site and those do look pretty cool. When you say it is to deal with manure until you get the compost bins emptied, do you mean because it will be easier to dump (so you can pile it higher) or ??? I’ll be curious how easy it is to dump that thing as it looks like you’d have to lift all the weight with one hand…let us know how that works out. I like the looks of it for towing behind the mower when I clean the pastures - better than the rinky dink metal one we use now.
I normally empty my compost bins before the snow flies, because in the winter we have to take off the bucket on the tractor so the snowblower can go on. This year we got an early 18" of snow and the blower had to go on before I got a chance to empty the bins.
When the bins are empty I just use a wheelbarrow or muck bucket for daily stall cleaning. They hold about six weeks’ worth, morein the winter as I can’t pick up all the poop that’s out in the snow. 
So now it’s too icy to empty them, although we may try next week, and plan B when the bins are full is to haul the manure about 200’ away to where I keep my pile of finished compost for giving away. I can compost it in the spring. But that’s WAY too far to push a wheelbarrow so I needed something that could hold a few days’ worth of poop and could be hauled behind our ATV.
The Ursa wagon got my vote and I’m psyched to start using it!
It’s an old thread, but any updates available from anyone who has actually used the Ursa Wagon? I’m looking at various models right now, trying to decide what to get. My new farm came with a shed for hay that is in the most inconvenient place possible, and I will probably be hauling bales of hay out of it all winter long, across about 100 feet of yard. Ruled out an Agri-fab wagon that looks cool but is two wheeled and you lift the front. Looking otherwise at Gorilla, EZ cart, googling around … and the Ursa has really caught my eye.
Specifically - how does Ursa do with 1-2 bales of hay?
The gorilla cart is cheaper and looks heavier duty. But yes, you have to dump it. I have one and use it to store one to two bales of hay for daily use. I would not want to use it for manure but that’s me. I am also not in love with it being pulled behind a truck
Thanks! In my case, my cart would need to be used for both hay and manure, so the gorilla cart with mesh base & sides isn’t too appealing. I don’t have stalls, so no daily mucking with poo and shavings, but will have a sacrificce paddock area to keep clean.
I have both the mesh frame and solid dump Gorilla carts. If you are planning on putting manure into the bed then dumping it I would look for something different unless you want to have back surgery. We use muck baskets which we put into the cart then use the cart to haul to the dump point, emptying the muck baskets there.
^^ yep, that Gorilla 1200 is one I just found today and was going to give it a try. Can’t be too sure what justifies another $200+ for the Ursa when the basic specs on this gorilla heavy duty and the ursa are so similar. Thanks everyone!

OMG … My Gorilla 1200 came yesterday. It’s freakin’ HUGE!!! It’s 80lbs by itself, and big enough to probably fit 4 hay bales easily, not that I’d be able to pull it by hand with that much weight. Methinks I’m gonna have to hitch up one of the horses to pull it for me.
Normally I like big, and I absolutely did read the measurements before buying, but I guess I just didn’t quite comprehend it until it got here. Guess I’m gonna still go ahead and buy a regular old wheel barrow for every day poop duty, and this monster can help me when I need to tote hay around.
(Since the original thread was about ursa carts, I will say that I decided against the ursa cart primarily because of price.)
