NA Field Hunter Championship Finals and Fall races- Group trip!?

I’d like to go to the Championship finals and races, but I don’t like to go to events like these by myself. I’m only in the area til December, but I’d love to get to know some people here and this looks like a great opportunity to do so. The weather looks like it’s going to be nice next weekend and I think it will be lots of fun!

Let me know if anyone is interested!

I’ll be there!! Ya’ll look for me - several large cameras.

HR, I’ll be looking for you if I go!

So no one wants to go with poor TBlitz? I’m located close to DC if that matters to anyone. I also have a truck and a drivers license.

I’d go along, but unfortunately I am crazy busy this weekend. I need to start my outlines for law school. I know…I’m boring. I’m hoping to make it to MD for a few of the hunter trials.

PM me if you are interested in the WIHS, since you’re here you should go! I work right next to the VC, so I’m planning to go on the Friday night…I think.

WIHS definately. Will pm SteeleR

Right there with you, T… no races for me either this w/e. :frowning:

Stupid school!!! Haha, get’s in the way of everything fun!

I’m going to be going on Sunday and I have 2 spots left in my truck if anyone wants to come. I’m just doing general admission parking because I’m a cheap college student and I’ve only talked my roommate into coming. Anyone want a free trip and tons of fun (must come with a food dish  )? Don’t be shy!

I’m coming from Alexandria, so I don’t mind picking up people from the DC area. My apartment is right off a metro station too.

So, can someone share with us the results of the Field Hunter Championships?

It was a lot of fun to watch. The Irish horses had a great showing in the finalists.

I can’t remember too many names, but I think Dennis the Menace ridden by Susan McHogh from Aiken hounds won the championship.

Maybe HR knows the results. I have no idea where they would be posted. I’m just a spectator.

Sorry but could not attend and all I heard was that Suzanne MCHOugh (sp) from Aiken won, but that is the extent of what I know at this point. HR went, I daresay she will chime in shortly with the results.

Yea!

Yea!! I know that Pan Drunagel of Warrenton Hunt was the Reserve Champion! Talking about a wonderful, elegant rider and super horse!!! Yea!
That’s the only one I know!

Susan McHugh on Denis The Menace Champion. Current Aiken and Flat Branch; former Blue Ridge. The horse is 1/2 tb, 1/2 perch, though you’d have to use dna testing to ‘see’ the perch. She got him from Elise Daniel.
Absolutely foot perfect.
Warrenton’s Pann Drunagel reserve, plus best turned out.
A man, Hazel is his last name (Drew, maybe? - my program is at work - writing from home early this morning) was most suitable. They did not make hte final-final cut, but he’s a big(ger) man on a big crossbred sort of horse. Terrific pair.
8 made the final final cut. The mock hunt they went on before that was realllllly long, with tons of jumping. The judges were (correctly) rewarding, especially this year, jumping ability and manners.
The winner was superb. A joy to watch. She’s done this 4 years in a row, making the finals each time but never before Sunday making the final finals.

Danny Hazel, OCH

Thanks for the update!
