Name Me Some FEI Horses Who Have Come Back From Injury

I know it is common that some upper level horses will get injured and return to competition after rehab. I am interested in reading any profile articles that are out there on FEI level dressage or show jumpers that have returned to competition after injury. Thanks for the help!

Flexible came back to fei level after an injury at least once.

HH Azur had a rib injury.

SOOOOOO many others have had issues and come back but there’s not a ton of folks willing to disclose that.

Cedric broke a rib and came back from it

Going back in time, Big Ben returned to competition after 2 colic surgeries and a serious trailering accident.

Recently Yuri Mansur has returned his gp horse Vitiki to competition after extensive time off and rehab following injury at Aachen in 2018.

The rehab was 1 year+, but he has come back to have multiple top ten 5* finishes.

McLain Ward’s Clinta came back from some sort of injury. Anyone know what the injury was? It was mentioned by the commentator on a live stream.

A lot of them have but its not discussed. I ran a rehab barn for a top vet and it was very hush hush about horses names.

Saw on of Bull Run’s Vanderveen GP horses in the wellington hospital this last winter after surgery (likely colic due to bandages). Name and owner on the door of stall. Checked insta a few weeks ago and it competed in an FEI class recently.

I think some of the back from the brink series horses are FEI.

I think most have come back from some sort of injury. There are a lot of nerved horses out there jumping a lot bigger than expected.

Not h/j but Elisa Wallace’s 5* eventer came back after being diagnosed with a-fib. Boyd Martin’s horse Neville Bardos came back after the barn fire. T

You guys are awesome. Thanks for all of the great stories.

Flexible had 2 unusual conditions and a couple of others he came back from. Credit to dedication of Rich Fellers and his veterinary team.
