Wow!! A super refined, long-legged stallion performing FEI level movements!! And here I thought it wasn’t possible…
What should the ratio of the knee to pastern (the “cannon bone”) be to distance from the elbow to knee? TIA
Actually the video of Prokoviev is a very bad one compared to what he can do. I wish you could see a proper one when he was in work. I am not sure if he was even in any sort of work at the time this video was raken. I have a sneaking suspicion he was probably pulled from the field just for the open day.
While his owner was on maternity leave in 2004/2005 he was being ridden by Peter Storr and was on the verge of going GP. He had beautiful 1 time tempis, piourettes and a great passage. I should have thought that there would be you tube videos! I am on a dongle so can’t hunt for any of the Peter Storr Videos. Prokoviev is by a Russian TB stallion Beg, who himself raced successfully as well as winning at GP level show jumping (and possible training to advanced level dressage too). Prokoviev also had an exceptional jump. A real duel purpose stallion.
