Names for my Irish Draught Sport Horse

This year I really AM going to get my paperwork in ON TIME.

Why do I not get it in on time you might ask. I’m really bad at naming foals.

So I have a plain bay filly by Bridon Belfrey RID out of my Connemara TB mare Blackpoints Lotty Go Bragh.

My farm name is Bluebird Hill.

And while we’re at it I need a name for my 2 year old filly by Snowford Bellman RID out of Smart Lil TB. She’s solid chestnut

Mr P doesn’t like Whoneedsbling and The Lady in Red and Queen of Hearts have been done. King of Diamonds is a very well known ID stallion and they are not related

HELP please

It’s always fun to go to the map of Ireland and look at place names. Even my As di Villagana colt is named As di Valentia, after “Valentia”, the big island off of County Cork. He is Hanoverian! My other Hanoverian, a filly by Landkoenig, I named Llangollyn, meaning Land’s End in Welsh! Then you could tie in the “Blackpoints”, etc. with a name straight from the Emerald Isle! Some of the Irish place names are so beautiful.

Blackpoints Bell Tower, Churchbells Ringing, Steeple Bell, etc. since steeplechasing began in Ireland. Throwing out ideas…! Or Snow Bells!

Bells (or Bell, or Belle) Go Braugh
Lotty’s Bell Tower
Bluebird in the Belfrey
Belfrey Go Braugh

Smart Bellgirl
Bellgirl Lil
Lil Bells (or Belle)

If they weren’t so sweet I could call one of them Bellatrix

Bellamour?

Bellamour is beautiful!

ON TIME

ON TIME

But not very Irish.

Unfortunately I think Irish Draughts and Irish Draught Sport Horses suffer from a lack of breed recognition

Debt Crisis?

OUCH, I like Celtic Tiger better

Bellman’s Red Alert

Bellfleur???

I’ve wanted to name an Irish mare “Star of the County Down”, after the song.

LOVE IT!

Celtic Crash And Burn!

or the ever popular

Session In The Recession

Not helpful I know but couldn’t help it in the current climate.

Or for recent times:
Where The Feck Is The Snowplow!

Terri

Bellford Bluebird or Bellford Blue Rose for the chestnut. Or Bella Go Braugh which is really close to Janet’s suggestions but more musical.

Celtic Carillon. It would tie the Irish and bells together…and holy smokes…if you’ve ever heard the Carillon played…you’d never forget it. Truly spectacular

Celtic Carillon is a gorgeous name! “Carie” for barn name!

Take a look on my site.

I’d want to keep the Go Bragh if possible, as a nod to that wonderful family - and like all these names, Bluebird Go Bragh, Bella Go Bragh, Bluebell G.B, Bellefleur GB et

or, just send her to me…

LOL, well I do have the 2 YO *Gunsmoke x Lotty Go Bragh filly…she’s buckskin.

Right now I am leaning towards Bellamour for the chestnut and Bella Go Bragh for the bay
