Nashville H/J Barns

Hi All, we recently moved to the Nashville area and are looking for recommendations for h/j barns…

who would be your go to for a 10 year old short stirrup rider who doesn’t have their own pony yet but would like to lease or maybe purchase and do some local schooling and rated shows? Really looking for a barn with other kids who show if possible

and

where would you reccomend for an adult who is doing 1.0m-1.10m jumpers (and playing around in some hunters) (horse is still back in NY until we find a barn) with a greenish warmblood?

would love any and all recommendations. We are on the south side of nashville but willing to drive a bit for the right barn for us. PM for If theres anyone you wouldn’t reccomend?

thank you all

The Jaeckle Center is a good facility and would most likely meet your needs. Nice indoor, good instructors, lesson horses if needed, on site fun shows and travel to good A shows too.

Brownland Farm in Franklin (south of Nashville) does Hunters and Jumpers and when I rode there, had great lesson horses/ponies (they teach all levels, group and private lessons). Many of the areas shows are held at Brownland, so the rings and facilities and great. However, they have no indoor.

Hunters Court, which was outside Murfreesboro for like 30 years just moved outside Columbia (south of Franklin). They also do Hunters and Jumpers. I know nothing of their new facility, but I don’t believe they have an indoor either.

For the short stirrup kid, I can’t imagine a better barn environment/coach than Jennifer Pigue at Lone Oak Barn in Franklin. She has kids doing everything from 4-H to (local) rated shows and is tough but fun and fair. Really, I can’t say enough nice things about her and her program, especially for kids.

Highland Manor Farm in Columbia is a new facility just south of Nashville that focuses on hunters, jumpers, and equitation. We have lesson horses and ponies and offer lessons with a USHJA Certified trainer. Our show schedule ranges from local schooling shows up to rated, both here in Nashville and elsewhere.

I second Jennifer Pigue. I grew up riding with her and she is wonderful.
