I am looking for ideas for natural foods (not pills) that can give my dog a more healthy, shiny coat. She’s in good health and gets a high quality dry dog food, along with some high quality treats, from time to time (i.e, fish or chicken scraps from our meals, steamed veggies she likes sometimes, and bits of butter, yogurt). But her coat is a little dry and dandruffy. Any ideas about what could improve it?
I’d go for something high in omega 3–salmon oil? Orijen Six Fish?
Coconut oil and yogurt helped our jrt’s coat a lot.
Fish oil pills, flax, chia, coconut oil
Fresh ground flax seed mixed into wet food.
My dog’s skin much improved after switching to a salmon-based dog food.

Not pills. Why? Are all supplements out? You can buy fish oil in a pump bottle. The human fish oil pills are gobbled up by most dogs.
