NBC coverage

Please instruct me how to get the live stream, because I hate the cut up version NBC is giving out.

Yes they seem to be covering more sports, but it is half as**d coverage.[/QUOTE]
It is possible, even without a cable subscription. I started a thread with a link to instructions using PlayStation.

BBC coverage is the best, I think. They have done 100% of the equestrian and their commentators are the best. I don’t really know what I’m talking about, but you can get a proxy server from Hola so that it thinks you’re from GB. Then you can got to BBC livestream, which sometimes works, or batmanstream, click on Olympics and click on Equestrian when it’s live. Make sure you keep clicking off any x’s and don’t load anything. I usually get it after a few tries. It has something blocking the screen until you make it whole screen.

NBC’s website is laughable for how hard it is to negotiate. I have been looking at different sports for over a week and I still have a bitch of a time figuring out what is going on and when. While I do like that I can get everything I want to watch in real time on my laptop, I hate figuring out when anything is happening based off their ridiculous website.

NBC is really frustrating. I was not going to get up in time for the live stream so I turned on the TV to watch the show jumping “highlights” only to find them stuck on golf after the synchronized swimming. Do the commentators really need to whisper when they putt? It was amusing to hear the crowd control guys getting really worked up at people taking pictures.

I have watched exclusively on the Beeb. Not only can you watch live, but everything is available on iPlayer to watch again.

I broke down and bought Hot Spot Shield Elite (2 years $49.99) and it’s brilliant and HD. You can use it on 5 devices, so I have the iPlayer app on my tablet. It will also work through the firewall at work.
The cycling is quite exciting.

There has been a three level, pay per view package offered on the summer Olympics-maybe 1992? It was a total flop.

I lived near the New Mexico/Mexico border, and could get the live action feed free from that channel. They didn’t do the repeats on the up-close-and-personal stories, and just showed the events live.

Jan M I do remember the ‘triplecast.’ It wasn’t available on my crappy cable system, but it was on my parents. So I persuaded my dad to start the recording at about 4 am. I paid $120 for it, but it went in over there. I got every minute. It did repeat, because I am sure I recorded that too. I recorded it all.

My NBC livesteam has been working beautifully. It took me a few minutes to get the site down, but I now have it to where it alerts me when ponies are coming on.

No complaints here!

From what I heard at the time, I don’t think the Triple cast made enough money to have it again. However, I really enjoyed the channel from Mexico, because they showed every event, the commentary was in Spanish, and at that speed I understood very little. I just sat and watched it, without all of the extra stories.

I would be uncomfortable with the “two random shots hitting the equestrian venue.” The street gangs are shooting right outside the venues.

According to the NBC schedule, today’s dressage finals will be broadcast on USA network 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today, Eastern time.
