NBC - You suck

And No Fuego.
That was the most disappointing of all…that his wonderful performance in the freestyle was not broadcast. It would have grabbed TV audiences at home and given them something to really enjoy and appreciate.

Totilas and Gal in their mortician mode and funeral music was a real downer after Fuego. I wouldn’t be surprised if people at home said “gimmee the remote !!”

i shelled out the money for the FEITV site and i am happy i did.
Ditto.

Like I said, I AM happy we got something, and I watched some of it, in all it’s commercial-laden glory (I even own a Lexmark printer ). But I’m not going to go around thanking them for their poor editing choices. It would not have impacted my enjoyment in any appreciable way had that coverage NOT been available.

Had I not been in the process of moving (and thus away from a computer for much of the time), I would have purchased the FEI TV coverage and ignored NBC altogether. Perhaps they should take note of THAT demographic: the people willing to pay real money in order to see real coverage.

On that, I agree completely. The one year (Barcelona maybe?) that they broadcast many, many sports including equestrian, live, on multiple cable (at the time) channels- I was happily up at all hours to watch it all live. And would pay for a package on a satellite channel.

I was really glad that they had it on (and that the NBC station in Boston covered it). I put it on in the graduate student lounge, and I ended up chatting with two guys in the lounge about equestrian sports “…and the WEG is different because the top riders have to switch horses…” I think they were quite impressed!
