NEDA Fall hotels

I was hoping to go out to watch a friend ride, staying over Saturday night. There seem to be no hotels with vacancies. Does anyone know any clean, reasonably priced places that may be off the beaten path and have rooms? Thanks for your help.

Look in Kingston ny about 15’ drive.
If you want something a little more upscale, try Rhinebeck 20-25’ drive

The Comfort Inn and Howard Johnson are the only games in town, so they fill fast. Most people stay in Kingston if they can’t find something in Saugerties.

If you want nicer, you can stay at Diamond Mills in Saugerties. If you can deal with some odd rules, The Greens Inn adjacent to the showgrounds might have something.

I’ve always stayed at the Hampton Inn in Kingston. There’s a Best Western, too. I can’t imagine they’re full.

Have tried these, as well as others mentioned. All full. :frowning:

Volunteer and you’ll get a hotel room for free! There are some jobs that will allow you to duck away for a few minutes to watch a ride, or you could stay an extra day. NEDA provides one night of hotel (shared with another volunteer) for each full day of volunteering. It’s a really fun show to be a part of.

I just checked the Hampton Inn and the Resident’s Inn (both in Kingston) and both are available. They are not allowing 1 night stays, which is probably why you are not seeing availability.

You can absolutely check in to either of them on Saturday, you just can’t check out on Sunday.

Campsites w/ power and water are available at Rip Van Winkle for $51/nt.

Yeah…I was wondering if that was the case… they don’t want to take a one nighter because it would limit the people who wanted to stay the weekend. Looks like we’re camping.

Maybe try Homeaway or VRBO or AirBnB?

IN addition to searching Saugerties, try Woodstock (9 miles), Kingston (10 miles) or even Rhinebeck (12 miles)…
