Need a recommendation for a seat saver

Im in the process of getting my australian saddle refitted for my horse and am looking forward to lots of trail riding up here in the mountains. My australian saddle has a nice deep seat and fenders in front to keep me from sliding down the front on some our steep downhill trails. Ive been riding the trails in my cross country saddle but after I about slid right off the front of him on a recent ride, I decided I needed to ride in a more secure saddle.

So my australian saddle, which had been fitted to my jumper, is getting fixed so it will work on my younger guy. They are about as different in conformation as I could get so Im glad we can fix it.

However! That australian saddle is HARD. Its like sitting on a board. I have a couple of seat savers but they arent worth much. One is just sheepskin (no other padding) and the other is gel - but its very thin.

Im looking for something I can ride in for several hours without hopefully getting so sore that its not fun.

Recommendations?

I used both: a gel cushion first and then a real fleece one on top. Kept my seat comfie and the lady bits dry

I use the cashel gel seat on my hard saddle and it’s nice. Now I want to add a sheepskin to it! (the part about the dry lady bits sold me! )

Cashel! I’ve tried others including sheepskin and always come back to Cashel.

I use the Cashel on my aussie and love it. If the seat was bigger I might add sheepskin on top too, but I think it would make mine a bit too snug fitting.

Excellent! Thanks

My bony butt is happy with just the sheepskin
