I was hoping there were some new great ideas though!
The nice thing about the Redbacks is you can even get a skinny bottomed jean over the top and NOT get bedding in your boot/shoe. That matters!
I got to the point where someone mentioned Danskos as ankle killers before I realized the thread was 100 years old.
I always laugh when I go to the Dansko Outlet in SE PA because at corner where you turn into the place is a foot & ankle clinic.
Ariat makes a pull-on version of the Terrain H2Os that are my chore boots. They have the excellent Ariat footbed/arch support my plantar fasciitis requires, are super easy to slip on and off, and are waterproof to boot. Are they fashionable? Not at all. But they get the job done, and my current pair is still going strong after three years of abuse.
Lately I’ve been wearing On Cloud waterproof sneakers. They have elastic laces you don’t have to tie. The waterproof membrane also helps with sand/dust getting in, though of course they won’t have the ankle coverage of a boot against shavings and whatnot.
OrthoFeet – Quartz Hands-Free Work Boots for women. Pricey but great!
