Need help with Hunt crop repair?

Yesterday the leather keeper on my son’s hunt crop broke. The leather was old and dry and pretty much just crumbled in half!

Bit sad because the previous owner of the crop had the old keeper put back on with fresh new thread binding–in hindsight might have been more sensible to replace the ancient leather keeper at the same time!

I’m going to reach out and see if I can find someone local to do the repairs (we are in Lexington, KY), but I’m guessing I might need to send the crop off.

Is there anyone that you all would recommend in particular for this kind of repair work? Please share!

There’s a very good repair place in Columbus SC or Journeyman in Middleburg or Skeeters in Warrenton Va)

In a prior thread, someone recommended:

I haven’t used them myself but might be worth a call.

The guy in Columbus,NC (right next to Tryon) does very beautiful work, and also makes whips, I believe.
