Need manly barn name for white horse.
The Lone Ranger’s white horse was “Silver”

The Lone Ranger’s last name was Reid. I like the name Reid

The Lone Ranger’s best friend was “Kemosabe”
And Tonto’s horse was “Scout”.

Gary. That name has been on my mind lately for a horse name.

If you don’t like Gary, call him Ty/Tyler or Tay/Taylor

How about Sterling? As in Sterling Silver.
I immediately think of Sterling Archer…as in Archer, the amazingly inappropriate animated series. But he’s a super spy, so that would work with the whole white tie affair thing. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh gosh, I didn’t even make that connection. Even better!

Archer is a fabulous name!!

I also agree with Tyler being perfectly acceptable. Or Bond, or James.

DH and I agree that if by some miracle he decides he wants his own horse (will probably happen in many, many years) we will search for the perfect tall, grey gelding and we will name him Preacher. DH is a huge Clint Eastwood fan and one of his favorites is Pale Rider. Clint’s horse is never actually named in the movie, but Clint himself goes by “Preacher”.

I think of Roger Sterling…

and I think Roger is a very nice name

OP you weren’t kidding when you said he was white -

He is so white! You could even say STARK white…blanco…

 1. Stark
 2. Jon Snow (Jon or Johnny for short…GoT fans anyone?)
 3. Blanco
 4. Blank
 5. Arty (Arctic)

White Tie Affair is SUCH a cool name–one of the best JC names I’ve heard in a long time, btw!

I agree with the above posters that keeping it simple and just calling him Tye would be nice, especially since he has such a lovely name already.

‘Tux’ might be another short option that goes with that name!

Other barn names that are sort of in the same-sounding family as White Tie Affair–Teddy, Alfie, Fitz.

Casper (the friendly ghost)

Casper (the friendly ghost)
HAH! I like

I like Stark!

Fitz is cute, too. Alfie brings back memories of a really rotten horse (who I think had a Affair in his name, too), so not my choice. But not my horse!

If a horse gets called Archer, it needs to live up to the name. Which is probably not a good thing!

I think we’re roughly the same age - I must be the only person in my generation that cannot stand that show  I just want to smack Archer and Lana. Malory isn’t bad. I do like H Jon Benjamin in other things though. I’m with you re: Alfie - kind of how I feel about innocuous names like Cinnamon and Bo - met my fair share of nasties with that name.

Could you imagine a pony that lived up to that name? Good god, would I be the first to wash my hands of that horse!

I’m not sure if you like GoT but you could name him Ghost after Jon’s dire wolf. He was pretty bad ass.

I saw somebody else had a GoT reference … I thought Stark was good too!

Call him Cowboy Magic. That way you’ll remember to get a gallon of it every time you go to the tack shop.

I love all the suggestions, keep them coming. I don’t know when he is arriving yet, still waiting on a pick up date from the shipper. I do like Ty, Sterling and some of the others. I can’t go with Casper. I was threatened at work by a guy who said his gangster name was Casper so it makes me laugh and that’s all I can think about when I hear it. He was the most un-gangster un-tough guy ever.

Thinking in the same vein as NMK -

Smudge

(Have you ever had a white horse before?)

Granger
Tex or Tux were cute ones too.
Love Archer lol

Darth vapour

You’re not the only one. I can’t stand the show.

“Dirty” Short and to the point!
