Need new farrier ASAP in Haymarket area

Hi everyone. Just bought a new horse about a month ago and he’s due to be shod. Have been calling my old farrier who used to shoe my last horse, and while he called back to suggest a possible day, he has not returned my subsequent calls. I’m getting worried. It’s been a couple weeks since I last heard from him and the horse is due now!

My horse has somewhat complicated feet so I need somebody who really understands how to balance a hoof. I board right off Rte. 15 between Gilbert’s Corner and Haymarket. Do you have anyone to recommend who does a good job AND returns phone calls? Include contact info if possible.

You might see if Forging Ahead can see him. You will have to bring him into Morven Park, their shop in Philomont, or other location. They can help you plan for his special shoeing issues and this will tide you over until you find someone good who can come to you. Sometimes, they can send a farrier to you, but usually you need to go to them. Check their web page.
