After 23 years, I am running out of ideas for fun barn Christmas/Holiday parties. Ours is an adults only dressage show barn and I would love to hear some new ideas for fun things to do.
What are some of the most fun things that you have done at barn parties for adults?
At the farm where I rode growing up, we used a play a trivia game where we passed around a wrapped package with a question under each layer of wrapping. They were mostly silly questions, related to the riders and our horses, etc. Everything was pretty tame but you could definitely spice it up for a group of adults, as long as everyone has a sense of humor! We had little prizes as well.
We always did a yankee swap gift exchange as well, probably not a “new” idea, but it was aways a good time! Much more fun than secret santa, especially with an all-adult crowd.
Set up a little course not over anything around things and throught small areas. have the people pair up, then one person is the blindfolded horse and one the rider (behind the horse on on.) The the horse holds there arms straight out in front holding the end of rains. the rider stands behind and has to tell the horse where to go using the rains and no voice commands other then clicking for forward. It will show how light the rider truly is in their hands.
Forgive me, but as an adult I pretty much loathe games - those bridal shower, baby shower games are enough for me. It’s an adult party, have a pot luck, gift exchange or Yankee trader. One of my friends used to do create a big list of barn highlights from the year… it was all kinds of fun stuff so that was always fun to read at her holiday party.
