Horse is Percheron Cross, 17 hands about 1500 lbs, highish headset (and awesome horse!) I am struggling to find a turnout sheet and blanket that fits him. He is clearly an 82 inch in length, but I can’t find anything that fits his broad shoulders, big chest and barrel. On some of the blankets I’ve tried I couldn’t even close the surcingles around his belly. Any recommendations?
Hands down, go with a Weatherbeeta. They come in a range of sizes and are quality - I still have the blankets I bought for my horse seven years ago and with regular waterproofing and minor repairs when sharks have ripped it, they’re in awesome condition. If your horse is an 82" go with the 81", they tend to run large with plenty of room in the shoulder gussets for the bigger horses. I have a Perch/TB only 16.2 but built heavy and these fit him great.
Amigo XL is my go-to for my cob. He only measures 70" from center chest to tail, but his overall thickness puts him in a 72" Amigo XL, whereas I would have to size up to a 78 in other brands just to fit his width, and have them hanging off his rump.
