Need Thoroughbred Quotes~(crossposted)

Hi Gang- looking for some quotes from well known horsemen about thoroughbreds for a project we are working on- we have several from George Morris, Bertalan deNemethy, and Rodney Jenkins but I know there are more out there-

Thanks in advance!
Bev

Lol, this is so not what I thought this thread was going to be about!

I was thinking funny sayings only a TB owner would know like, ‘treat me like a thoroughbred and I’ll never be a nag’

Sorry Bev, no help here:)

C’mon people, I know there are some great ones out there!

I like your suggestion but it wont work for what we are doing LOL!

I’ll bet Denny Emerson has a ton. Can you contact him? He’s on Facebook a lot. Maybe you can msg. him through that.

Maybe not quite what you’re after, but from Jane Smiley’s Horse Heaven:
“They are exuberant. They are sensitive. They are opinionated. They have, in general, too much of every lively quality rather than too little.” To me, that about sums up the OTTB who taught me the riding ropes.

not famous quotes but my trainer loves a ottb. A few things I have heard her say…

“You had me at Off the Track Thoroughbred.”

“All TB’s have at least one screw loose.”

I assume you mean people that work with Sport TBs not racing types, owners, trainers, riders?

Yes, OTTBs now sport horses-we want to continue the wave of pro TB sentiment in the sport horse world…

First time time posting here, genetics question.

What would be the the theoretical result of two thoroughbreds one with Native Dancer 4 gens back,(stud) and one with Secretariat 4 gens back, (dam) being crossed with only Bold Ruler as the bloodline that both have in common? Please give me some input. Thank you!

As for quotes:

I am still under the impression that there is nothing alive quite so beautiful as a thoroughbred horse.
John Galsworthy

The blood runs hot in the Thoroughbred and the courage runs deep.
In the best of them, pride is limitless. This is their heritage and
they carry it like a banner. What they have, they use.
C.W. Anderson

When you call upon a Thoroughbred, he gives you all the speed, strength of heart and sinew in him. When you call on a jackass, he kicks.
