Need winter riding coat-suggestions please

Buying as a gift for my daughter who has a working student position in the Mid-Atlantic region now but will probably head to Aiken, SC from Feb-to end of March, so appropriate weight to the region/s is key. (She’s from the North so is used to extreme cold so this would be a warmer climate obviously) She’s never actually had an authentic “riding” jacket and would really like one for Xmas this year. I’m hoping to keep it under $200, she prefers to cover the hips but not go past the bum and be able to ride and work in it. Likes the look of the traditional coats, slightly fitted with the slits in the back. Which brands/model do you all like best? She’s average height and weight but needs room up top
Thank you!

I’m in Atlanta and spent 4 years of college in NJ.

I typically ride in just a longsleeve, sometimes a cableknit, with a vest.
I hate the feeling of bulkiness along my sides/arms.
Last year, I received a Calvin Klein Performance jacket for Christmas, which I love. The arms are a stretchy performance material with thumbloops. The body is quilted. I can wear an additional vest over it if needed. I have several friends with the following two jackets, also, which are more traditional in styling and might be more to your daughter’s liking:

She’ll probably need two jackets, a lighter one and one for the days when it hovers around freezing. I live in south Georgia, and I wear a Mountain Horse parka when a lighter jacket just isn’t enough. It’s great for winter shows, too–it pops on over the show clothes.

I know you want to keep it under $200 but just in case you decide to really splurge  : http://www.horseandriderboutique.com/product_p/pik063.htm

I bought this one for running but also wear for riding. It’s not split in the back, but it totally allows full movement, even jumping. And its long enough that I don’t feel self conscious if I stop at the store in my running tights on my way home from the track
