Hi! Just got a lovely nephrostomy tube and bag yesterday courtesy of a large kidney stone that couldn’t be removed surgically. Looking for suggestions for how to manage this contraption while riding. Thank you!
Have you been medically cleared to ride with the tube? I’m a nurse and have only seen nephrostomy tubes a few times in my career, but we generally treat these tubes very carefully and encourage patients to avoid any activity that could pull on the tube.
I’m assuming your tube is temporary? I would suggest avoiding riding for now just to be safe.
Good question. Supposedly the team who placed the tube told my mother I could ride (I was still in recovery). The urologist doing rounds the next day told me I shouldn’t ride….I will be holding off to be safe, but thanks for the advice!!
