Netflix Race for the Crown

New Netflix documentary to waste your time lol. This time about horse racing and oh boy the owners are um……interesting :grimacing: That’s all I’m gonna say about that.

Thanks for the heads up, will look in on it in the next few days. Saw some of the F1 series, hope it equals that.

I’d say it’s more like the Polo Series. F1 is difficult to top as it’s so dang good!

Started watching last night but stopped for when I’m less tired. OMG. The first owner couple… Wowza…

I watched the first two episodes. I have to say I was a little disappointed at how little the series has focused on the actual horses. The focus is definitely on the owners; the trainers and jockeys are peripheral. The horses barely make the screen, unless you count the racing footage. :frowning:

I think Netflix missed the mark. There are so many cool stories in racing and the general public really responds to stories about the little guy, the underdog, the human interest angle.

Netflix seems to have gone for the “hot mess express” angle and is definitely doing horse racing no favors.

“Hot mess express” is a good way to put it.

DH and I are huge F1 fans and would love to go to a live F1 race sometime. Silverstone would be our first choice because of our small-scale hobby of owning and showing British sports cars. “Drive to Survive” is a great series.

Race for the Crown is just a bit too over the top and there are definitely not enough horses. I do like the jockey they’re focusing on, though.

Racing Forum has a thread on this program too.
@Moderator_1 can they be merged?

Repole and Iavarone are certainly something else. :flushed:

Repole at the end of the final episode. What a douche!
