Neutering a cat that isn’t technically yours

What a special boy! If this guy sticks around he will have his appointment.

Woohoo. Great job! I’m sure he’ll be happier without them.

Classic case of first you’re the kidnapper but afterwards … you’re the hero who rescues him and brings him “Home” !

Here’s to many, many happy years together !

As that old horse trainer down the road occasionally says

“ Ya Done Good - Kid “

OMG. He’s hilarious. Love the first pic - he is still gorked, right? I can see he is in a real hurry to leave…and is hating - just HATING - every minute.   Dude, you’re stuck with him.

He got neutered in the morning. I picked him up at 4:30. And that’s a couple hours after coming home. He was pretty alert. I think he got tired after eating his dinner. So he went to sleep. :joy:

I lost my orange Chessie/Chessalump/Chesstopher recently. I’d like to think his large presence and amazing personality will live on in your recent Chessie addition <3

We haven’t named him yet. This is only his second visit where he ate the food. He is very suspicious of the whole thing!

He scopes out the bowl so I think he is going to be trap wary but hoping if we get him consistent we can move the bowl inside.

I neuter anything that comes around my home, including grabbing the pregnant girls and having them aborted and spayed. And I often end up adopting them as well. As far as I am concerned if they can’t be bothered to neuter their pets t hey don’t deserve to own them.

That is gorgeous orange kitty, he is so lucky he adopted you!

I do this quite often, in fact I finally trapped one two weeks ago that I was trying to catch for months! There were several broken appointments before he finally went in that trap. He is currently residing in one of my guestrooms, hoping he will become an indoor kitty. Fingers crossed because he is quite wild.

Yay! He looks SO happy in those photos!

Wish my guy Simon would stick around more often - he’s happy to come eat, and gives me head butts and wants petted when he shows up, but he’s been a feral tom his whole life. Hopefully he’ll settle down soon. But like Chessie, he didn’t hold a grudge over the brain surgery.

I wish he could be my indoor kitty. Unfortunately I have 2 dogs … one that loves cats and the other one who does NOT! Her prey drive is really high. I did teach her to leave chickens alone which she does but after she killed a young hen. Just yelling at her curbed her chicken prey drive but I do worry about the cat. She is so keen about him. So I let him back out today. I think it’s his best chance. He’s chilling while we grill burgers.

Any tips for making a rescue dog with a high prey drive not eat a really affectionate cat that doesn’t realize he’s about to be chomped ?

These are the 2 preggo street walkers I am hoping to nab! they are far enough along where I am working with a rescue to see if we can find fosters for their ‘lying in’ so their kittens can be born inside, socialized and adopted out. Unfortunately most foster homes are already tapped out, so send jingles that I can convince the SO to let us foster them. Even a crate in a garage would be better than giving birth in the gutter.

I’ve made progress and finally got 2 vouchers for spay/neuter at a local clinic. There are at least 3 super friendly toms (one is a Chessy look-alike with hind socks… I call him Terrance) that I can not wait to make “ballless and flawless”
