New barn recommendations: New Bedford, MA area

Hi all! I’m moving back home at last, but it’s been so long that I’ve lost touch with the horse community there.

I am looking for a trainer and barn close (~45 min drive) to New Bedford or Dartmouth area. I don’t have a rideable horse, but I’m looking for a show barn where I can hopefully trade slave labor for saddle time or find a nice lease. I have references from several people for general horse work!

Most of my experience is with jumpers/eventing but I would also be interested in a hunter barn. I am looking to improve my riding and move past that 3’ barrier.

Thanks!

Grazing Fields

Another vote for Grazing Fields.

There are a ton in the Tiverton, RI area.
Claddagh Farm
Glen Farm
Seapowet Stables

Glen Farms - now that’s a blast from the past - lol! Is Ted still there?

What ever happened to Jay Sargents’ place? I think I saw it was for sale a while back?

I’m not familiar with Ted. Sarah Kieran is there now.
Jay Sargent’s place is leased out.

Throwing another name into the mix, not sure of whether it’s a little over 45 min but Suffolk Run is a new program in Marshfield - the trainers there are excellent, and I rode with Chris when he was at his prior job and really enjoy his teaching. I believe Jesse (who I don’t know as well, but who seems delightful) worked for Grazing Fields for some time. I know they have a horse there who might work for a part lease- I showed him a couple weeks ago and he was the sweetest kindest soul.
