New boots = new half chaps?

It must be written law or something, surely?

I just went crazy and bought myself a pair of Mountain Horse Snowy River boots, short, because fat legs, fur lined, because this years ageing bonus is cold feet it seems. Brown, because that’s the only option there is.

Now I hadn’t thought about half chaps until someone spoke about snow getting in them, then it dawned on me…I only have black half chaps  so there must be one of those unwritten laws, you MUST have new matching half chaps, even when you are broke having spent more on one pair of boots than you ever have before!:joy:

/snicker. Brown half chaps do exist but they are harder and harder to find. Justchaps in the UK has them, and has a wide range of sizing options.

I’ll check then out, thanks, you know just in case…

Hang on lemme grab mine…

OK Tredstep makes brown ones and you order by height and calf size, not S, M, L. Basically custom

Nothing in Tredstep for someone who is short and has wide calves, though. (This isn’t OP’s issue, I don’t think. But for those of us with those characteristics, it’s becoming more and more difficult to find good quality boots and half chaos off the shelf.)

I tried to order Perri’s on line last night but the brown are out of stock…typical.

I love that no one yet has said just ride with brown boots and black chaps

No one will. We like to enable!
I have a pair of ProChaps in brown. Comfy and Canadian.

I have brown half chaps. Had to then find a brown helmet to “go” with it. It never ends…

Oooh, brown helmet…damn it, ably have black gloves as well

These? Seriously they have a ton of options here, and in brown.

That’s how I make the quote work, feeling accomplished now.

OK, as far as I can see 17” is the widest they go, even when I am at my very slimmest 17” is a stretch…my build, no my weight, and one leg that is permanently larger following surgery a few years back…so they won’t work for me sadly.

Aw bummer! Well… Mine are 17’’ high and 15’’ wide, and my calves are actually 15.5 and 16.5 (not sure why, no surgeries, but I have spent the last 12 years getting in and out of a car all day long at work…) and they fit very nicely. LOTS of stretch.

They would go great with my black & brown 1/2 chaps

Le sigh…after arguing with myself for ages I pulled the trigger and ordered some Fuller Fillies last Sunday, at least I know they will fit…

Then today I get an email with Black Friday sales, could have saved myself $25 CAD :sob: :scream:

Contact Fuller Fillies and see if they will honor their sale price and give you a refund. Big D just did that for me on a purchase made Monday.

See if they will honor the price and give you a refund.

Well, this is the reply I got

Oh dear, there is always someone who asks this question, but to be honest, we get VERY few orders the week before Black Friday (or January 1st) because our customers anticipate the sale! That said, I have a MUCH better idea!

Which Forum is it that you are posting on? I think it will be far betterCustomer Services to make an offer to the whole group, rather than just one…

…On the other hand; if it is just a discount FOR YOU you are looking for, the 14 day notification period isn’t up yet, so why not return them and order a new pair in the sale? Always assuming they haven’t been worn because they are in a different Country…?

Wait: no one is going to ask where Sophie got those two-tone half chaps?
