Thinking of getting a new CWD mademoiselle. I am older (56) & not as balanced as I would like to be. I currently have a 2GS & have heard the new mademoiselle is more of a close contact feel. Is that a good or bad thing for balance/security in the saddle. I would like to hear from people that own or have ridden in one.
I am currently trying to sell a 2GS for one of my boarders who bought a Mademoiselle. I rode in in when the rep came and I liked it in comparison to the 2GS. The pink piping on the demo was a bit much, though.
My saddle is an SE01, which I prefer to both of them, in all honesty.
Thanks for that info Chezzie. I just sold a SE02 but I like my 2GS better. Going to try the new Mademoiselle Sat. I wondered about that pink. It is cute but looked a little bright.
I saw that link a couple of days ago but didn’t really give me info I was looking for about balanced but thanks.
I just got my saddle (brown piping) and I think the close contact feel is great. I find it to be very easy to balance in and it is so comfortable, however, the seat is much more flat than my se02 and I wouldn’t say it is particularly secure. My mom is about your age and while I love it, I’m not so sure that she would.

Posting you question on that thread may help too, sometimes people won’t go and answer a specific question about a product that just recently had a thread
I thought of that too but felt it would get more response by starting a new thread
I just did a test ride in one. I think that if my flat seat 2Gs and model M Luc Childeric had a baby, it would be this saddle. lol
I felt very secure and stable and liked that it was closer contact feel in the flap than the older 2Gs. What I really didn’t like was the padding in the skirt of the saddle. It really bothered my inner thighs. Otherwise, I really liked it, and my horse did too (which is rare, because so far the current 2Gs is pretty much the only saddle out of a lot of saddles that he doesn’t have large objections to).
from what i understand, the mademoiselle was in part made to accommodate women with larger thighs that made the large blocks and stiff flap of the 2GS uncomfortable to ride in. I have a regular CWD but rode in my trainer’s 2GS while I was waiting on my saddle to arrive, and i think the main appeal of the saddle for a rider is the construction on the flap - your legs are not going anywhere. to me that makes the saddle pretty unique. taking that away and saying that it’s a “special” saddle doesn’t make much sense to me (i think the main similarity between the saddles is the tree but am not sure). i kind of think the mademoiselle is a bit gimmicky, but i do understand the appeal for anyone whose conformation makes the 2GS uncomfortable. the seat is also supposedly shaped more for the female anatomy. i think if your main concern is security in the saddle, you may feel best in the 2GS. i have not sat in the mademoiselle, though, so take my advice with a grain of salt!
