It’s been a long time since I’ve shopped for dressage saddles, and I’ve known the day was coming when my old Butet would be too narrow in the gullet. Here we are. It looks like it fits perfectly in front, but he’s beefed up behind his withers, and the gullet there just isn’t wide enough. I ran into the same thing with my jump saddle - solved it with an Antares and we’re both happy as clams.
Any ideas for modern dressage saddles that are pretty flat and minimal knee rolls? I hate feeling trapped and ride with some angle in my knee. I say modern because the gullets tend to be wider. Luckily I’m not in a rush, because we can just flat in my jump saddle, but it really does help to have a D saddle. Already have my Antares person on the job. Newer Passier maybe? This looks like a modern version of the old saddles - https://www.passier.com/en/saddles/dressage-saddles/freemove-dynamic/ .
TIA!
