There have been NUMEROUS, often highly contentious threads about Oroquin.
I would suggest you read them for more information about both “sides” in the debate.
If you have something to add (and FDA approval would definitely be something to add), I would suggest adding it to one of the existing threads.
If you start a new thread, it will probably rehash through the conflcting opinions, all over again, without adding anything new.
On one side are people who are enthusiastic about it. If YOUR horse improved from the treatment, you are sure to be enthusiastic.
On the other side are people (often in the medical or scientific fields) who point out that anecdotal evidence is not real proof, that proper scientfic (controlled) studies have not been conducted, that in many cases the horses treated my not actually have EPM in the first place, and that Oroquin is in a class of drugs that can have VERY serious side effects.
Personally, I would rather not live through it again.
It makes much more sense to read the existing threads, and add you opinions, and anything new, there.

“Pathogenes Inc” in Florida, has been working on a new approach on curing EPM, by analyzing/treating 2 separate symptoms: parasites and inflammation, on a deeper level than Marquis. They suggest a different drug combination and are in the final stages of being approved by the FDA. Trial horses had a much higher probability to be cured and show to not relapse.
Has anyone on here been part of this trial, or does anyone know more about this study? I think the Vets name is Siobhan Allison DVM PHD??
Thanks for sharing :)[/QUOTE]
