Mommy looks very content!
Still trying to get a slot for the free spays. In the meantime, I scheduled with our local vet, just in case. About $200 each is the best they could do. But, they will sell me the vaccines and dewormer. Kitten vaccination day is 6/23
Has Polly decided that motherhood isn’t really her thing? Maybe Louisa knew things were going to end up that way and that’s why she took Polly’s kittens.
Lol! She certainly takes more breaks. She is quick to respond to her kittens. When she wanders, all I have to do is pick up a kitten and she returns.
Friend of mine was quoted $675 to neuter a MALE dog this week. $200 seems like a bargain in comparison.
Polly is a “free range” parent, lol! Kittens gotta learn to be independent is her mantra
Looks like the crew had given Louisa a white whisker.
It’s even a little crunched, probably from being trampled on. She’s such a good mom!
That little tabby/white kitten is a cheeky little thing
Our son already loves Leia. Caleb is the other with lots of white. Both already seem to like people. My dad might want Leia.
I was playing the video and my cats perked up and were listening. Most weren’t impressed but you could tell they were listening.
Who was making all the ruckus?
"freerange parent"
Reminds me of a 2nd cousin who dumped both her toddler & newborn on her grandma (my Great Aunt) who was also caring for her husband w/dementia. So she could play tennis.
Her reasoning: “I can’t be a full-time parent”
I was tempted to ask why she’d had full-time kids
@moonlitoaksranch That is one adorable passel of kittens!
Victoria’s kittens. She was eating, lol
I like the word passel. It’s not used often enough, lol.
Did you know a group of kittens is called a kindle? I guess that’s where the ebook name came from. So, we have an extra large kindle of kittens.
Okay, this is just sad. I have to schedule an extra pickup of garbage because the bags of used kitty litter might exceed weight. We have our regular house cat litter boxes, which get stripped weekly. Plus, Ralph’s box in the workshop (he’s in there for another month). Plus, the momma cats get their boxes stripped every other day or every three days to keep things clean for kittens.
I just washed a bunch of towels to put on the crate floors when the kittens get more mobile. The big bed is coming out of Polly and Louisa’s crate in a week or two to make it easier for the kittens to move around and learn about the litter box. We’ll also add a play pen area to introduce wet food to the kittens when they are four weeks (Polly and Louisa’s kittens only). Victoria’s kittens will have to do that in their crate because Victoria is too wild to roam the garage.
I think they are taking pity on us, lol!
Either Han or Luke have a home already. When I called a pet store to find out about posting an ad, the lady went nuts when I told her we have two orange polydactyl kittens. She loves orange kitties and the extra toes are just icing on top. Technically, they will be old enough prior to the adoption event, so, since she wants the kitten to join her other indoor house cat, she can pick him up when he’s eight weeks old. We also have to hold back Leia for my Dad, who won’t be here until mid July to pick her up. That’s two down! Twelve to go, lol!
If anyone is looking for very sweet male kitties, I will recommend Luke or Caleb. So far, they stand out. Zoe and Cloe stand out as sweet grey females. Zoe also has extra toes. Miggy tried to hiss at our son yesterday, and then did a quick sniff, like, ‘oh, it’s you’, lol. He’s adventurous. I think their vision is beginning to show them more then just light and dark. Miggy probably reacted to seeing a strange new fuzzy image moving towards him.
I wish I lived closer, those are some adorable kittens!
They are SO cute. I’m such a sucker for polydactyl kittens too.
I feel for you! Are you using regular kitty litter?
For my barn cats’ crates, I use pelleted bedding as litter. When you wet it down, it fluffs up nicely and keeps the smell down quite well. And it’s totally biodegradable - just toss it out in the pasture and let it decompose.
I’m following the vet’s advice on litter that is safe for kittens. I like your way for Ralph’s litter box, though.
