What part of the midwest are you in? I have family in MN that might be interest in a barn cat or a few. (feel free to PM me if you’d rather not say here)
That’s very nice of you. I’m hoping to get these guys home as house cats. A bit of an upgrade from being a barn cat, I suppose. Their mothers will stay here as our barn cats.
I have a weird question. Do mama cats pull fur out to make a nest for their kittens? I know rabbit mothers do this. Victoria has some tufts of fur in her crate. Not a lot, but I wondered why. Could it be better diet, or a thing mother cats do?
I know my barn cats are still shedding like fools so as they groom themselves they end up with some pretty impressive tufts of fur that they then have to spit out. Could that be what is happening?
That might be the simple answer! Victoria purred and rubbed on my hand today. She’s definitely taming down. I even pet a few of her kittens. We’ll go slow. Hoping to get weights and names for hers by the weekend.
More pictures! Polly takes a break every morning and explores the garage a bit. I usually have to pick her up and put her back in. That’s why she isn’t in the photos this morning. She’s had enough of maternity leave and wants to get back to work, lol.
The kittens are sooo cute!!!
Victoria is so cute, love her long whiskers!
The kitten combo pack looks like they’re about ready to try and escape their bed. Poor Louisa will have a stroke.
Combo pack, lol
I have a gray tabby Lewis also!
We tried to do Victoria’s kittens, but only got three weighed and named before she got upset. We’ve got plenty of time.
Introducing….
No extra toes and their weights are very similar. I think she’s doing a great job. Alice just has that one orange splotch on her forehead. Very cute.
Any sign of the last feral orange cat?
I love how they look like “Wha - hah?” Little Alice is adorable with her orange splotch.
Funny you should mention him. We just saw him tonight. We named him Hoot. We really thought he was owl bait. We just need to trap his little orange butt.
They’re so fuzzy!
They look great, nice and healthy and clean.
Good job Victoria! Now let your servants see the other 3.
From my experience, it is not rare that a Tom vanishes for several days at a time, especially this time of year. There are females to be found and fought for.
Ugh. You’re probably right.
I love that last photo of Victoria. It is all: “Times up. Move along, nothing to see here”
That’s a lot of kittens! Just hearing the number of them didn’t prepare me for what that would look like.
You are a good sport for taking that group on, cute as they are.
