New farm two pregnant barn kitties. New pics 7/20

Squee! What fun to be in the middle of playful kittens. I’m so jealous.

I’m glad to be of help. We all need cuteness as stress relief.

I would love to share this time with anyone that can make the trip up here! We’ll be swimming in kittens in our house soon enough. For socialization purposes, it would be good for the kittens to meet a lot of people after weaning, but how do you find people when you’ve just moved to the area? And how do you ask without sounding like some kind of a creep? Asking people to come play with kittens in our basement is tantalizingly close to, “Hey kids, wanna play with kittens? Get in my van!” :grimacing:

Any local preschools? Frame it as a field trip. You have a bunch of cats needing homes, needing more socialization, would they like to come see and pet?

I’m with Shiloh that this is my favorite stage - I think because their eyes are proportionately so huge in their little heads… they are so CUTE!! I am in LOVE with Miggy!!!

This instantly made me think of those signs in shops that say something to the effect of “unaccompanied children will be given an espresso, a drum and a puppy”!

Oh…Albert is extra squee. They are all, of course, cute as all get out.

We have been stripping litter boxes twice daily and still can’t keep everyone clean. Two adults and eight kittens in a litter box is too much. There’s no room for more litter boxes, so we made the hard choice to wean.

Victoria is sketchy with the kittens so mobile now, so we couldn’t reach her litter box since we separated them on Friday.

We had no choice. All the kittens are weaned. They’ve been eating both wet and dry food. They’ve been drinking water. Mama cats are settled in the crates in the workshop (Ralph is already smitten) and the babies are in the basement music room.

We have them set up, but we’re off to the store for more supplies, including a bigger litter box. Or, several short ones.

Do you want to see what 14 kittens looks like?

They are meltingly adorable.

It would probably be a good idea to offer KMR in bowls to them, too, to make sure they’re getting all the nutrition they need. If they’re eating wet and dry food, they’re probably good, but best to give them the best nutrition possible at this stage.

Agreed. I’ve had good luck mixing KMR and wet food together, too. Although this often results in kittens that need a good wipedown with a damp paper towel afterwards!

What beautiful kittens! I wish I lived nearby, I might just move in with you.

I’m still trying to teach my kitten not to play with wires. The computer wires are his favorite. I finally cut up a box and put all the wires inside, and taped them. Not sure it’s entirely kitten proof, but might slow him down and hopefully I will catch him before he tries to electrocute himself.

I LOVE the tunnel – what is that, a hippo???

They will do just fine weaned… and yes, kittens are FILTHY in their litter boxes… It’s amazing how much cleaner my momma-cat’s cage is now that her children have been evicted.

I cannot get over the photo of all the kittens on your legs… HEAVEN!!!

I have regular KMR and second stage. We’ll try the second stage and use the regular, if we have to bottle feed anyone.
