New farm two pregnant barn kitties. New pics 7/20

I’m torn :expressionless:
Sooooooo happy you are nearing the end of your Exciting Ride.
But kinda sad this thread is nearly sewed up (pun!).
Major Kudos to all of the Moonlit crew.

And if I were closer I’d take 2 of your “plain brown” tabbies
My first cat was one of those & I’ve always been partial to that coat color.
Artsyfartsy double exposure of me & that 1st cat - circa 1969

They are wonderful. And, so many many kudos for you and for your family for taking on all of them. It would have been easy not to, many people probably would not have. Thank you! I wish I was not half a continent half a way (and firmly told, no more cats!)

Lol, I think you mean Leia. Her new home is with Albert and Chloe. Lovely family with two older boys who were quite good with the kittens. The dad added Chloe because he fell in love with her. They have many litter boxes set up for their very old kitty. They intend to keep the kittens separate from the grand old man.

Some pictures from this morning. They LOVE the basket. I had to take the handle off because they were breaking off bits.

Those need to be posters or greeting cards! Totally adorable!

In teh video who is the little terror who winds up sitting in the basket at the end? I think that’s the one that is running all over and leaping on everyone and at one point runs up your chest. SOMEone has way too much energy and is making me go :heart_eyes_cat:

Is the brown field tabby the one with tabby and white? That is a new term to me, always glad to learn new cat talk!

Alfred. He’s such a twerp.

That term was on the ASPCA website, I think. He’s the one with zero white and his back fur looks like a squirrel instead of tabby. His name is Miggy, but we call him the little squirrel.

Thank you for the definition. I love the ticking in his back fur, and his sweet little face!

Now that the kittens are just about settled into new homes, we’re focusing on our new barn cats. Polly, Louisa, and Victoria. Polly and Ralph, our original barn cat, might get along, eventually, but they’re still in the hissing stage right now. Louisa will be harder. I think she protects Polly when they are out together with Ralph. Polly and Louisa are so tame that we let them out of their crates to wander a bit in the workshop, but only under supervision. Victoria is still too feral. She allows a little petting, but I doubt I could get her back in the crate if we let her out. Polly and Louisa allow us to pick them up.

I need to get better pictures of Polly’s toes. She has more toes than her babies, because she extra toes on her back feet.

In other news, Ralph wanders his new domain during the day and is very good about meeting me during chores so I can lock him back up in the workshop every night.

On a very sad note, our 16 year orange indoor kitty was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. It came on suddenly. She had a UTI so we took her in, and discovered her other issues from labs. She was given sub q fluids. Now, Audrey doesn’t tolerate vets or vet procedures. She hides under the couch for days after a vet appointment or any interventions. She just doesn’t want to be messed with. We will not put her through that again. We’re trying to get her to eat the special diet, but no other procedures. When it’s her time, I found a mobile vet.

I’m so sorry for you and your kitty. Kidney failure comes on so suddenly - they’re so good at hiding the symptoms until they just can’t anymore.

Having gone through what I did with Nigel, I totally sympthaize with your decision.

What a wonderful life you have given her. I am so sorry you are going through this. It is ever easy.

Oh no, poor Audrey. Renal failure is so hard to deal with. They have to be willing to go along with it and if they are not - well, you are making the right decision for her.

I’m so sorry about Audrey. Kidney failure is a heartbreaker. It came on suddenly for my kitty too. The first symptom was increased water drinking. When I took him to the vet and had him checked, his levels were at the advanced level.

Some cats will eat kidney diet and will let you give them fluids, pills, supplements, etc. Some won’t. Quality of life matters too. If the cat is stressed by home treatments then just do what she’ll let you do.
