New farm two pregnant barn kitties. New pics 7/20

Two more went home today. We have five left: Han, who goes home tomorrow. Caleb who goes home next week (yay!), plus three awaiting homes: Beatrice, Miggy, and Leopold.

Here’s a really long video from yesterday when there were still seven.

I would be happy to keep any of the remaining three, but five cats in the house would be a lot. I’m currently cleaning nine litter boxes every morning. At least a few are due to be stripped, plus scooping. I’m sure there are better homes out there with less kitties.

Anyone would be happy to get such cheerful happy little kittens. And well socialized, too!
I could watch kittens play all day long and would not mind being a jungle gym for them, either.

sigh…happy smile now

Not that I would encourage anyone to emulate me, but I have five indoor cats, plus two that are indoor/outdoor. Just saying . . .

Love the dirty nosie on the little orange guy. Reminds me of my big cat when he was little, his nose was always dirty and scratched more often than not.

Six indoor cats is enough for me. Although I often wonder if just the right ginger shows up I might be convinced to make it seven.

I can’t tell if that is food and dirt on his nose or freckles. Red cats get freckles on their noses, lips and insides of their mouths. The freckles on all of mine shrink, grow, change shape and locations or disappear altogether.

For Han, that was food. They do love the wet food.

And I have one more than you , although the majority of them are in their upper teens.

I’ll see your seven indoors and raise you one.

A house full of cats = lotsa love!

Well the Kittens With Mittens are only 4yrs. old and are double the trouble! I must say though, that there must be something in the air or water because they’re all acting looney lately.

They’re gorgeous. What a fun household you have! Never a dull moment, I’m sure.

I stripped the litter boxes in the workshop for the mama cats. Hopefully, for the last time until they get spayed. It’s harder to keep Polly in the crate. She springs out to wander (the building is secure) every time I go in to feed them. She and Ralph are getting closer without conflict now. Louisa and Victoria still hate him. Louisa has no interest in coming out of the crate. Victoria is trickier. If she gets out, it’ll be very hard to get her back in. She’s still mostly feral. Thursday is spay day!

We have four very curious kittens. They came out into the basement to wander for awhile today. They really didn’t want to go back inside their room. I got some pictures of Leopold, Caleb and Miggy, but Beatrice was too hyper today.

Just a few pictures of the future barn kitties.

Polly with her crazy feet.

Louisa. She’s so sweet that it’s hard to get a good picture.

And look! Victoria is doing much better. She lets us pet her.

Ralph, of course.

Wow! What can Polly count to on all those toes? 40?

All four of them make a good looking cat family.

Do you think Ralph and Polly are related? Maybe siblings?

Victoria is so pretty! I’m glad she’s getting more friendly. I still think it’s funny that Louisa stole Polly’s kittens.

Ralph is the barn cat we brought with us from Florida, so he isn’t related. But there is a funny story about orange cats and our family. Orange female cats are rare. 75% of all orange cats are male. Nevertheless, back in Florida, our first kitten my husband and I got together (from a vet because she was dumped over the fence at the clinic) was our beloved Audrey, an orange female. Next, a friend needed to rehome an old barn cat in an emergency, so Ginger spent her last few years with us (another orange female). When we needed another barn cat, Ralph was at the local shelter in Florida with a death sentence about to come due, so he came home.

We thought the orange female cat chain was broken because of Ralph. Then, we move all the way out here and now we have Polly. I think we’re just destined for these orange females. That’s fine with me. I do love them.

Louisa is a character. She is more shy than Polly, but very loving. I think she’s the kind of cat that would mother a rescued squirrel baby.

Victoria is really coming around. I don’t know if she’ll regress once she gets her freedom later this week or not. Her pets will all be on her terms. It is that way now, for the most part, but she’s stuck in a cage.
