Somewhat similar situation with my cat Dice. Some friends, who happened to be a gay couple, found him (or he found them). They decided he was not neutered.
He was then given to my trainer who took him to the vet to be neutered. They sedated and prepped before realizing he’d already been neutered.
So his lack of testicles was missed by two gay men and a vet.

Tom is great though he shows little interest in the taco truck. Too busy with assorted other activities like setting off the motion detector in the security system, moving toys around the house, and stealing cherry tomatoes.
He finally came out from under the bed for the cat sitter at the end of the two weeks I was in Africa.

When I had my kitchen done over, I was embarrassed when the workmen moved the stove and fridge. There were so many cherry tomatoes under them both. Apparently they’re marvelous cat toys.

Miggy is getting big, but he’s still mostly legs. His neutering tummy mark was a tattoo after all. He goes in for his last kitten vaccine for FIV in two weeks. He had some diarrhea issues, but probiotics helped him out. He’s adjusted well and still bites fingers and toes like a little snapping turtle, but he’s getting softer. Also, he’s fine with getting his claws clipped. Good boy!
