I came here for the Miggy updates and was not disappointed. I’m so glad you kept him - I knew he was special from the day you named and posted his pictures!! He looks like a lovebug. I’m sorry to read up on Jacob and Tiger; wishing your family lots of healing and hope Miggy can help with his supersized personality and adorable ear tufts.
What a handsome, handsome boy!
Thank you for the Miggy updates!
One more from today. A flock of turkeys pass through our farm daily and one dropped a feather. I brought it in for the indoor kitties. Miggy was so happy with it that he kept running off with his prize to keep the other cats from even looking at it, lol.
That’s a great idea! I find turkey feathers all the time but never thought to bring one in for the cats.
I made a cat toy from shed chicken feathers (the primaries) & baling twine.
Tied a bunch together & hung that from a doorknob in the cats
I find it in the hallway
Feathers from outside are definitely prime toys.
He’s developed quite a striking spotted tabby pattern! Nothing “plain brown tabby” about him in my opinion.
It’s funny, I think we got the best of the lot! 14 kittens…man, that was something. Not something I want to repeat, but it was fun. We were cleaning and sweeping up seven litter boxes twice per day. We had so much old litter from stripping the boxes that we had to make weekly dump runs. Actually, I say we, but I did 90% of the work. Our son helped mostly with feeding and catching the escapees while I was cleaning, lol. But, they are all home now and happy. Everyone has been spayed or neutered. All are indoor cats except for the three original barn cat mothers. Whew, that was an intense summer!
Thank you so much for sharing your summer of the kittens with us!
Hey, sweet Miggy!
Absolutely! Honestly, I needed the moral support you guys gave me, lol.
Ralph, imported rodent manager from Florida, in the beautiful fall leaves. He’s enjoyed the seasons these last six months. He has no idea what’s coming, lol! I’m looking forward to his first snow experience.
Poor Ralph. Such innocence… and used to year round warmth… he’s in for a rude awakening!
Beautiful colors and Ralph’s pretty darn good looking!
My kitty and I wish Ralph joy for his first experience of snow! I remember my girl’s first snow day. I took her outside to watch it and she tried to catch the flakes as they fell. Then she was very glad to get back indoors and curl up in her basket by the heater vent.
This is exactly what I was thinking when I read that. Poor Ralph.
Don’t feel too sorry for him. He has a heated workshop to retreat into when he gets chilled. Right now, he and Polly shun the shop, but they do make use of it on rainy days.
I’m just going to warn you… You’ve never received a dirtier look than the one a cat will give you when they ask to go outside, you open the door, and it’s raining/snowing/10 degrees.
In their minds, it’s your fault and you did it on purpose to make them miserable.
I tell my cats that I can only control the indoor weather. Not the outdoor weather.
Lol!
