New Format in Forum

I have had this happen randomly from time to time ever since we moved to this platform.
Sometimes they just go away. Sometimes I click open the thread and they go away.

I’ve had this happen, too.

If you refresh the page, does it resolve?

That’s happened to me on and off since the move to this platform. It’s like the tracker cookies get confused or something :woman_shrugging:

Next time it happens I will find out! Glad it’s not just me, and I hope it’s not the account switcheroo thing at play. That worries me since my identity is not a secret and I don’t want posts tied to my account that I didn’t write myself!

Yeah, that account switcheroo thing is pretty freaky! The incorrect tracking bubbles (at least the ones I see) seem to be unrelated, more of a curious glitch than a serious yikes. :grimacing:

Anyone else getting automatically logged out any time you go from this tab/browser window to another & then come back?
It’s been happening for the past few days now.

iPhone 11, safari, latest iOS version

Yes, I was very happy that I liked the one post that was made under my name.

Not that anybody has any idea who I am, or if they found me in public records would care, since I live such an isolated life!

I was for a few days, then it randomly stoped . Same user specs as you have.

I’m all of a sudden seeing banner ads inserted at the ends of user posts on the forums. Is this new? Is there anything I can do about it? I get having to accept a variety of ads on the right-hand side of the COTH site, but this seems extra invasive. Almost as if the ad is attached in some way to that particular poster when I know it isn’t.

Me too! I’d love to figure out how to make that not happen.

Edited to include screenshot. This is happening every 4-5 posts for me.

Since it is under the slide bar, does it interfere with how the slide barn works?

It would be less annoying if they made it obvious that they are not part of the post.

It does not appear to interfere with that function. It’s just very distracting when scrolling.

Nothing like that on my laptop?

It’s definitely been happening on my iPhone using Safari.

For example:

Irony of ironies – here it is attached to my post complaining about it!

Yes, after years of holding off from it, ads have finally been implemented inside threads. Gotta pay the bills, folks!

No complaints but I miss the Rolex clock.

I can understand that. But is there any way to make them even a tiny bit smaller? On my phone it takes up almost the whole screen.

On that screen shot all you have is advertisements…nothing to read at all.

Yes, on my phone (android) it is much harder to navigate around than on my iPad.
