New Horse Name; bay gelding with eyebrows!

I love the idea! But yes, collars are expensive. I mean they aren’t that expensive when you start adding up all the rest of the harness…but somehow!!
Although, I find it curious that a mini collar is just about the same as a draft horse collar in price! I suppose it is the skill in hand building it, not the materials, that is the cost. And that is a skill.

The horse with the eyebrows is now a riding horse with eyebrows!

What did you end up naming him?

Figgy, short for Fildago (Island I grew up on). Nothing to do with his eyebrows. :woman_shrugging:

small world. I lived in Anacortes on Fildago for part of the major covid years (2021 & 2022). Skyline overlooking Allan and Burrows islands.

We rented a house right on the hill over the water - a great little town - would have stayed and put an offer on the house if family wasn’t in CA. A little removed from the world - was so peaceful.

Oh I love that view. I was not far from there, off of marine drive.
But it’s changed so much. A very different place than when I grew up when it was just an oil refinery and fishermen.

I cannot believe this is the same animal. He has blossomed so much since I brought him home. He is now trotting poles under saddle and is such a good baby. He had exactly one temper tantrum and then after that decided riding was actually pretty okay.
He’s a total baby still and tries to put everything in his mouth. I had to stop typing this to go pull a curry comb out of his mouth that he was chewing on.
He also had to have his grain cut back… because he’s starting to get a belly.

He still has his eyebrows too. I think he’s going to be a popular guy in the show ring when we get there.

The shine on his coat alone says a LOT🥰
But his frame in the pic = :+1:
You realize we will be needing Figgy Show pics

Oh absolutely. We are a ways away still. His steering, stopping, going, are all great, but he sometimes forgets he has 4 legs in the corners

Yay! He’s filled out so much. I love seeing horses blossom into stunning creatures under the care of wonderful horsepeople. You will have to keep us updated!

An update! He’s cantering around, jumping tiny little jumps, and now a pretty solid citizen under saddle. Here’s a short clip of him cantering around today. He will be attending his first show pretty soon!
