New Horse Name; bay gelding with eyebrows!

It finally happened… I found one! Picking him up in just a few hours!
I’m so excited. He’s a cute 3YO WBx, way taller than someone my height has business riding (17h at 3… and I’m 5’5 on a good day), but such a sweetheart I decided I needed him. He has a big personality and thinks people are just SO wonderful.

I need a good name for him. He’s a tall bay, tiny bit of white on one hind hoof. The most distinguishing feature is that he has white eyebrows above each eye.

I’ll post photos soon, once I get him cleaned up. He looks a little feral right now.

But his current name doesn’t fit him (sergeant) and I’m thinking I need something cute for a barn name. Thoughts? Maybe something to do with those brows?

I can’t think about eyebrows without seeing Eugene Levy!

My first thought was Gene Levy as well. Then comes Groucho Marx.

I was 5’4" (shrunk 2" :sleepy:) when I had my 17’3 WB.
He was a lover too & we made it work :sunglasses:

For your boy, I’ll try to come up with some brow-worthy names
Off the top of my head:
Einstein for a barn or show name
Or show as: E=MC2

Must.
Have.
Pics!

I’ll try to get some of his face when I pick him up today. He’s COATED in mud right now.
I was also thinking maybe Albert, as in Einstein. Haha

Eugene! What an awesome name, I’d pick that one if it fits his personality.

Also I think of Bert, from Bert and Ernie.

Another inappropriate height enabler: I’m 5’2" and ride 17.1H  Can’t wait to “meet” him!

What about a sale pic? I don’t wanna wait…

My senior Morgan has developed grey eyebrows, not a natural marking, just how he is greying, it’s pretty cute.

You beat me to Bert! That was my first thought.

Johnny Cash

My first thought was Groucho too.

Ok so I’m not going to post his sale pic because he looks like a gangly butt high giraffe LOL. I was actually shocked when I saw him in person because I was not expecting something so nice! I went to look at 3 mares, and ended up with him instead.

It’s probably why I got him for such a good price.
Here’s some photos taken right before loading… you can see the white eyebrows. I’m assuming it’s from the bridle or maybe the blinkers? Though he’s only 3 he does know how to drive. He got too big which is why he was sold. The guy I bought him from kept saying how much of a shame it was I didn’t drive, because he’s one of the best driving horses he’s worked with. Just got too tall for the Amish.
He’s a papered DutchWB/Friesian cross. As far as I can tell his mom was an actual Dutch WB and not a DHH (not that it really matters much, he’s gelded).

He loaded so well! Such good boy.

I thought of Groucho and Eugene right away, too.

He has a calm look to his beautiful, huge eyes. Congratulations and enjoy your new sweetheart!

Awwww. I got my fjord at 3 years old and he knew how to drive as well; I started taking lessons and have my own cart now. You can tell that’s his thing! I don’t drive nearly as much as I ride, but it’s great having the option to change things up.

Hmmm…those eyebrows are interesting. Does he have them over both eyes?

Maybe the bridle/blinkers caused a rub, followed by some sort of skin-scuzz/fungus that created the scar?

Interesting!

It will be funny if you name him something eyebrow related and then in a few shedding seasons the pigment returns.

Yeah they are exactly the same over both eyes. I think it had to have been a rub from something but I have no idea what. I can’t think of anything else that would have caused it, unless I somehow ended up with a horse with the strangest natural facial marking ever.

He trailered so well despite traffic and an almost 7h ride. He then unloaded like a champ (even with never having to back out of a trailer before, and never walking on a ramp before) and then walked around his new home (in the dark) like he’d always been there. For being so big he has excellent ground manners.

Agree that some kind of rub. I have a black mare that got her ear stuck through a hole in a flymask ear overnight once. She still has a white ring around that ear. My vet said that some horses lose pigment really easily and then they’ve seen some horrific injuries and the pigment wasn’t affected at all.

I have a mare that has a white line on her poll from her extremely padded, cushy muzzle. I would not be surprised if she willed the line into existence just to make me feel like a terrible person for trying to make her not founder.
