New ideas for anti licking?

Long story short, one dog had surgery back in November, two fairly long incisions. They were not in a place that he can get to to lick - both on his back. Buuuuut, his buddy can and does. Obsessively so. I’ve tried several over the counter sprays and am getting nowhere. The poor guy has been in a shirt since November with no end in sight - probably not until late spring when his summer coat grows fully back in.

Any suggestions for topical stuff to stop the other dog from wound tending?

Did you try the Bitter Apple Gel? You need to keep it out of any sores or wounds, but it kept one of my dogs from licking her buddy’s stitches.

I would separate the dogs until it heals. Either with a solid door or 2 railing child fences so they can still see each other.

I’d buy a basket muzzle for the licker.

Obsessive licking is hard to break; I have one that started licking his own foot after my other dog had a foot injury. We went through a thousand socks before he started to leave it alone again. I didn’t think about a muzzle until weeks later.
